Ah, young love… and football.
This wonderful photo was taken in January 1951 at the Shrewsbury Amateur Football League dance. The photographer was Geoff Charles (1909-2002), a photojournalist who vividly documented life in Wales and the Borders between the 1930s and the 1970s. His work is now part of the National Library of Wales archive.
We’re not entirely sure what’s going on here with this bashful couple, but it looks to be very romantic!
